This discussion starts at 3.12 on transmission of TB in cattle. No one has considered soil fertility as a factor. The discussion involves the Farming Minister George Eustice and scientists from Warwick and Cambridge Universities. He says we have dozens of experts in DEFRA;………… but none of them are even considering soil fertility, or the lack of it, as a possible cause for these outbreaks of disease.
The Minister of Agriculture, David Heath, at the time I gave my lecture to the National Badger Trust, in 2012, is quoted on my last slide saying: “If there is a solution to this problem of TB and badgers, I will take it with both hands.”
