Post and Rail Field Kitchen

Volunteers

are welcome to participate in construction of a post and rail field kitchen at Well End.

We have felled an overhanging tree at the proposed kitchen site which will cover our course facility for Clay Oven building

Apply to partake on a voluntary basis to Richard at   rhiggins@suaglon.co.uk   We have just taken level measurements for erection of our four fir tree posts to stand on stone plinths to avoid digging in or levelling the ground. This will hold the overhanging corrugated tin roof that will collect rainwater for heated hand washing and dish washing.  Straw bale infill will be appropriate for the colder months, otherwise we plan to leave a plastered straw bale counter with wooden surface for kitchen preparation work. The filed kitchen will be heated by our Biochar burner and will also serve as a covered welding facility when preparing meals is not on the agenda.
