Ammonia Emissions from Slurry

Prof Keth Goulding of Rothamsted is featured  here on the addition of sulphuric acid to reduce ammonia emission in slurry

I have presented to the top five soil scientists at Rothamsted, who included Professor Keith Goulding, about the Howard technique of aerobic digestion of farm wastes to reduce ammonia emissions. With the Howard-Higgins method of waste management there are no ammonia emissions and there is no expensive machinery involved.

Isn’t this an obvious answer to the problem?

Why is always the expensive solution suggested to these problems of waste management?

Aerobic digestion of farm wastes (HH-1) is far, far cheaper and more cost effective, no chemicals are needed in crop production. Ploughing can be avoided, less pests, diseases and weeds will be prevalent and you won’t need to add any lime.

The Howard-Higgins method of farm waste management solves all these problems in one go. It doesn’t cost the earth and uses far less resources like sulphuric acid and expensive equipment to inject the treated slurry into the ground.
